Polychaetes have many morphological characters, e.g. eyes, antennae, pulps, tentacles, gills, cirri, etc., can be used for taxonomic purpose; however, these characters tend to be digested easily in the stomachs. Setae, on the other hand, are one of the hard part of polychaetes that remained in the stomach contents. Therefore, it is important to study different setae of polychaetes. They are very useful for food habits study, especially for juvenile flatfish diet. Most families of Polychaeta setae are provided here for use.
