Early Life History Section (ELHS) - The largest organization of scientists studying the early life history stages of fishes. Contains contact information for researchers and information on larval fish conferences and access to their newsletter "Stages".

Ecosystem & Fisheries-Oceanography Coordinated Investigation (EcoFOCI) - A cooperative research program with the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL), Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), designed to investigate causes of annual recruitment variations in fish stocks of economic importance in the Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea, and U.S. Arctic (Chukchi and Beaufort seas) ecosystems.

EcoFOCI Cruise Catalog - A metadatabase that allows users to search for FOCI cruises of interest based on region, sampling gear, and/or sampling date. Search results include area of sampling, gears used, number of samples collected, and a synopsis of cruises including dominant ichthyoplankton collected.

ICLARM FishBase - The largest finfish database on the web. Contains information on the life history, ecology and identification of finfish worldwide.

ICLARM LarvalBase - A comprehensive information system on fish larvae that are relevant in the field of finfish aquaculture, combining traditional sources such as primary and "grey" literature.

Environmental Research Division - A research unit of the National Marine Fisheries Service's Southwest Fisheries Science Center (formerly the Pacific Fisheries Environmental Laboratory) that conducts research on fishery-related effects of natural environmental variability over a broad range of scientific, management, and operational concerns of the government and the fishing industry of the United States.

Recruitment Processes, Alaska Fisheries Science Center - National Marine Fisheries Service program conducting plankton surveys, early life history, taxonomic and process studies to understand the mechanisms, both biotic and abiotic, that cause or contribute to the observed population fluctuations of marine organisms.

Resource Ecology and Ecosystem Modeling Life History page - This site allows users to access life history information for species inhabiting the eastern Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands, and Gulf of Alaska management regions. An extensive review of literature was conducted to collect known life history data for species of these regions.

U.S - Polish Plankton Sorting and Identification Center - The Center provides scientific and technical services for the taxonomic identification of different types of plankton samples as well as determining size and biological structure. The principal clients of the department's services are the laboratories and institutes of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS).

UW Fish Archive Database - Collection and specimen information for FOCI and other collections archived in the UW Fish Collection. Not all FOCI specimens are housed here, but most ichthyoplankton specimens from the 1970's through 2012 are available. A direct link is also provided to the records of specimens that have been deposited at the UWFC. These specimens can then be borrowed from the fish collection by contacting the Ichthyology Team.

Dr. Luke Tornabene's Lab at UW - Following a tradition of collaboration between the Alaska Fisheries Science Center and the University of Washington, Dr. Luke Tornabene's program includes studies into the ichthyoplankton communities in the Northeast Pacific Ocean, Bering Sea, and Arctic seas. If you are interested in collaborating, or furthering your career in larval fish ecology and taxonomy, please visit Dr. Tornabene's website to see the exciting larval fish research that is happening in his program.
